    Satan Attacks
    31 January 10

I got a message from the Lord today. A warning.
Sunday morning, and there in my kitchen, Satan appeared, surrounded by his minions.
    See Picture 1.

    I was terrified.
I begged for mercy. But there was none.
    Satan was angry.
    See Picture 2.

His minions scoffed at my fear.
    See picture...

    Saturday
    30 January 10

Things are looking up this side. It's the end of the month. I've survived the building. I've emptied the house of almost all the excess furniture (yesterday I sold the teak dining table chair and dresser and some little bits and pieces to a dealer)and I've made enough money this...

    Making books
    26 January 10

Yesterday morning I was kicked out of my study by the builders, and I had to find something to do, and my heart was aching, so I made a little book.
Four years ago I made 120 plus handmade books, and wrote my secrets in them. Writing down the stuff...

    lovely new room
    23 January 10

SO I have a lovely new bedroom. Monastic and quiet. With stone floors, coffee coloured walls and a bay window with a window seat. I just love it.
The rest of the house is still knee deep in furniture, dust and books in crates.
I still want to chuck things...

    Everything is kak ....
    21 January 10

Everything is kak and going wrong...
and I'm irritable and fed up. When is everything going to go back to normal? Happy life, a partner, security, things to look forward to?
I mean, how sad is this: I looked forward to the gardening service coming last Saturday.
    Today I want to grumble...

    6 Months
    20 January 10

6 months ago today, around this time, Luke died.
I have been so miserable these last few days. Partly because the house is still disorganised with builders and noise and dust and misplaced furniture. Partly because I feel guilty about taking Luke's study, giving away his theology books, emptying his...

    18 January 10

All week I looked forward to the garden service arriving to do a huge cleanup. They did a fantastic job. And thanks to the builders the drains are now fixed, the step and stoep rebuilt, the door knocked through, the second door taken out and replaced with a window, the...

    The great clean up rumbustification
    16 January 10

The great clean up opening up chucking away continues.
A gardening service is here, doing a major clean up. They've cut down the fig tree, and the back yard is all opened up and sunny now. They're pruning and weeding and cutting back and trimming trees and carting away rubbish...

    Building
    14 January 10

Yesterday morning my builder Phil brought his plumber, Tony Whitehead, to look at our destroyed sewerage pipe. I chatted to him about the kids - his son was at school with mine.
And this morning Phil arrived to say that Tony had a heart attack last night, and died instantly.
    And...

    The big clean up
    13 January 10

I've been up since the dogs woke me at 5.00, and I'm wondering why I sleep through early summer mornings. It's just gorgeous - cool and clear and fresh, with baby birds in the nest in the acacia tree and a flock flying in a line across the pale sky....

    sorting out
    10 January 10

Tomorrow the builder comes, and we've had to empty out Luke's study. It's very hard, and we're all feeling upset about it.

The study has a lovely serene feel to it, and I'm looking forward to moving my bed in there, so I can look out at the mountain, and...

    Getting Rich
    08 January 10

Next Monday the builder is coming to knock down the wall into Luke's study from my bedroom. Then I'll move my bedroom into his study, and my current bedroom will become my new office.
Then at the end of the month two lodgers are moving in to the two spare...

What did God do on the the 8th day?
    04 January 10

So for six days God had been really busy inventing systems, and creating every kind of animal, and then having fun making some weird ones like Platypusses, and proboscis monkeys and zebras and giraffes. You can see when he got bored with serious animals like lions and dung beetles.
    He...
